Daniel Defense improved the proven design of the M4A1 with a totally ambidextrous base, which facilitates its use for right-handed and left-handed shooters, providing them with greater flexibility and control. In addition, they replaced the RIS rail system with the RIS III handguard, which uses the M-LOK fastening system instead of picatinny, reducing the weight of the weapon.

The M4A1 RIII is based on a 14.5-inch cold forged Government profile gun with a permanently connected Daniel Defense flash suppressor. In addition, this rifle includes the comfortable butt and pistol grip of Daniel Defense.
